When the Body Everyone Feared Carried Life

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding.” — Proverbs 3:5

Before my first pregnancy, I had already heard the stories.

Stories whispered in hospital corridors.

Stories shared with caution by doctors.

Stories passed between families living with sickle cell disease.

Miscarriages.

Preterm births.

Tiny babies fighting for life.

Pregnancy, they said, could be dangerous. Complicated. Risky.

And yet, somewhere in my heart, faith kept rising above fear.

When I became pregnant, I knew the statistics—but I also knew my God.

There were days of fatigue. Moments of concern. Medical check-ups that carried both hope and quiet tension. But through every appointment, every month, every passing week, God kept writing a story that statistics could not explain.

Thirty-eight weeks came.

Then labor began.

And my baby came into the world—not fragile, not premature—but strong, full-term, and healthy.

Adequate weight.

A safe delivery.

A miracle I held in my arms.

The body doctors once labeled fragile had carried life safely.

Looking back, I realize this was never about my strength.

It was about trusting God beyond what medicine, statistics, or human understanding could predict.

Praise Declaration

Today I praise God for carrying me through my first pregnancy and safe delivery. When fear whispered possibilities, faith held on to His promises. The God I trusted proved Himself faithful.
