DAY 40: The Gift of a Caregiver Sent by God

Share

📖 Scripture

“Two are better than one… If either of them falls down, one can help the other up.” — Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 (NIV)

Chronic illness does not just test the patient.

It tests the people who love them.

And in my life, God gave me a gift I do not take for granted—

My husband.

My caregiver.

My covering.

There have been countless moments when my health demanded more than I thought anyone could give.

And yet… he showed up.

I remember one particular time.

He had just traveled out of state for a mission—barely two days away—when a crisis hit me hard.

Before I could even fully process the pain…

He was already on his way back.

Driving in a hurry.

Not because he had to.

But because love compelled him.

He could have said,
“She’s in the hospital… she’ll be fine.”

But that’s not who he is.

Not my Paul❤️

There have been times he cancelled important trips…

Missed work (even though he is deeply committed to it)…

Put everything on hold…

Just to be by my side.

And then there are the nights.

The long, sleepless nights.

When pain kept me awake…

And he stayed up too.

Watching.

Praying.

Holding on to God for me when I was too weak to pray for myself.

Crying out:

“Lord, please heal her… spare her life…”

Over and over again.

This journey has shown me something profound:

Caregiving is a calling.

A sacrifice.

A ministry.

And today, I don’t just celebrate him—I celebrate every caregiver standing beside someone battling sickle cell or chronic illness.

God sees you.

Every sacrifice.

Every tear.

Every silent prayer.

🙏 Praise Declaration

Today, I praise God because my life is full of testimonies—of His mercy, His help, and the gift of people who carry me when I cannot carry myself.

💭 Pain2Gain Reflection

Sometimes, God doesn’t just heal you instantly—

He sends someone to walk the journey with you.

Caregivers are earthly expressions of God’s love.

If you have one, you are deeply blessed, and your pain is turned into gain. If you are one, heaven is recording your faithfulness.
