Day 2: When I Found Life

Share

Theme: Praise for Salvation
Scripture

“In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.” — John 1:4 (NKJV)

Reflection
Some encounters divide your life into before and after.

Mine happened on September 10, 1986. I was 10 years old, newly admitted to secondary school, carrying a fragile body and big, unanswered questions.

Then I met Jesus.

Not religion.
Not rules.
Not fear.

Life.

That day I made Him Lord of my life — and something shifted internally. Sickle cell did not
disappear. The crises did not vanish. But darkness lost its dominance.

I was no longer walking alone.
His life became my light.
Light for hospital corridors.
Light for uncertain futures.
Light for days when pain tried to overshadow purpose.

Looking back over five decades, I see clearly: that 10-year-old decision anchored everything
that followed.

Day 1 was about being written.
Day 2 is about being awakened.

Praise Declaration
Jesus, thank You for being my light when my future felt uncertain.
